Citizens Needed for New Stormwater Advisory Committee

The Town of Swepsonville is looking for residents to serve on a Stormwater Advisory Committee. This committee will act as a recommending body to advise the Town on ways to maintain and enhance the Town’s overall stormwater management program. The goals of the committee are:

• To ensure the Town’s stormwater management program satisfies federal and state regulatory requirements.
• Encourage community efforts to minimize polluted runoff.
• Contribute to creation and implementation of public and employee stormwater education programs.

Haw River Clean-up

On March 17, 2007 citizen volunteers cleaned up trash and litter from the Swepsonville River Park and the banks of the Haw River. In all 16 bags of trash, 1 tire, and an old furnace were removed.
